Goostrey Walks and Strolls

The original Goostrey Walks and Strolls was written by Dr Brian Rogers and was published in 1979.

The text was hand written and contained numerous hand drawn pictures and maps.

In the Introduction Dr. Rogers states "Goostrey's walks are many and varied. Those included here are among the best...."

Residents Association. This walks in this version of the booklet are in addition to those described in original book wriiten by Brian Rogers. This edition was first published in 1996.

This edition is in colour with sixty-six photographs of rivers and wood, pubs and churches, birds and fields, telescopes and bridges give a colourful picture of Goostrey countryside.

There are two new walks in this edition:

Brand new woodland paths only recently created by Cheshire County Council are explored in the Galey Wood walk
The Peover Eye walk explains the origin of this strange name, gives a glimpse into the history of Peover Hall, and even notes when Cream Teas are available there.
